04. The Solution

Implementation Result

Developed a responsive, lightweight WordPress interface using the Astra framework. I focused on a high-contrast typography scale and a custom grid layout that mimics modern digital broadsheets, ensuring the brand colors were used as functional accents rather than distractions.

Key Outcomes

  • 01.Achieved improved load time through image optimization and asset minification.
  • 02.100% mobile responsiveness across all major student device viewports.
  • 03.Increased homepage click-through rate (CTR) to individual articles via a revamped 'Featured' grid.

Reflection

  • In news-heavy interfaces, typography is the most important design element for user retention.
  • Minimalism in a news context requires a strict visual hierarchy to prevent the homepage from feeling empty.
